Isle of Joy

Isle Of Joy
Sam Fröjdö (1976) is a composer and musician, active in Turku, Finland. Isle Of Joy is his
solo project, which started in 2020.
The project is based on Fröjdö's lyrics and music. The prog-inspired music is written for
more or less a traditional rock band set-up, expanded with strings, brass and background
vocals. The upcoming solo album is recorded in cooperation with the musician and producer
Jonas Franck (Jonas Franck Productions).
Isle Of Joy will release a number of singles this fall. The date of the release of the
upcoming debut album will soon be announced.
Isle of Joys' music is rich in melodies, themes and independent motifs and interludes. The
composer's fascination with Frank Zappa's music is obvious. The drums - Fröjdö's main
instrument - have a very important role in the compositions, not only as an accompanying
instrument, but also as a solo instrument.
On the forthcoming album, the composer plays most of the instruments. The project's
producer and sound engineer Jonas Franck also participates (electric bass) as well as guest
stars Charlotta Kerbs (vocals), Robin Pahlman (guitar) and Kimmo Gröhn (guitar,
saxophones), to name a few.
